B.O.N. Party USA
The first weekend in June was a blast with Biker or Not holding their national get together at locations all around the country. The Central Florida area held theirs Clearwater with Grass Flats being the main host for the event. It was the perfect opportunity to meet up with friends from the site and make plenty of new ones. Everyone was invited and the turnout was great!
The event kicked off at Grass Flats on Friday, June 4 at 4:00 p.m. with a huge meet and greet. "Big Deal!" entertained the crowd with plenty of great music. The organizers arranged group rates for everyone at the Marriot next door and the savings were really great. Security was provided at Grass Flats and people could leave their bikes with no worries and walk over to the hotel. Food and beverage specials were available for everyone attending and it was a real good time.
Saturday kicked off with breakfast at 9:00 a.m. at the Flats followed by a ride to the North to meet up with other members coming down for the party. The first stop was The Long Bar, followed by the Neon Cowboy, and Venom's in New Port Richy. After that it was back to Grass Flats for a pig roast with "Kilo" entertaining the crowd. The party went on until early morning.
Sunday started a little slow with everyone coming out of recovery. About 11:00 a.m. it was time for another ride and we were off to Peggy's Corral with a ride over the Skyway Bridge. It's not very often you can get that many bikes together for a ride and there had to be well over 100. Peggy's parking lot was packed and so was the inside bar due to the scorching heat. There were vendors, food, and a blue grass band for entertainment.
After a couple hours everyone mounted up and headed north to the Crabbbq. Another great ride and when we arrived, we found vendors, plenty of cocktail waitresses, vendors, and bike games provided by Mike from Born to Ride. Spike attended also but due to the heat he stayed inside and kept his wings cool in the A/C. This was a nice place with a real cozy inside bar. If you're in the area, be sure to stop by.
Once the games were over, everyone headed back to Grass Flats for a $5 steak dinner. Everyone was ready for a good meal and "Sobriety-X" entertained everyone for the conclusion of the party.
After the meal it was time to say our goodbyes and head back bouncing our way up US 19. We stopped at a place called the Crab Shack which is on the north side of the bridge separating Port Richy and New Port Richy. It featured a huge outdoor bar right on the Cottee River. Plenty of tables were available and the food was great. It's one block off of US 19 on the East side of the road. This is a definite stop for future rides.
After that it was a stop at Mermaids in Spring Hill. It's a great place with good prices and food. Linda and her staff are always enjoyable to spend some time with and this place is one of our favorites.
We have to say the weekend was a reall great time and we look forward to the next BON Party USA event. Special thanks goes out to Purr, CheapNeasy, Hi-Tech Redneck,FLBiker714, Lady Long Legs, BudBear, Kaintucky, DJ Patti & Freakie for co-ordinating the event in this area. A big thanks to Magic Man from New Hampshire for coming up with the idea and making it a reality across the nation.
