We heard a lot of buzz on the biker sites about the 1st Annual Riding with Angels Bike Rally & Old School Rodeo January 29 - 30, so we headed for Okeechobee to see for ourselves. It was being held at the L-Cross Extreme Events ranch about 12 miles west of town on Highway 78. When we arrived we met with Rosemary, president of RWA, and her husband Craig. She got us set up and was very helpful. While interviewing her, she explained her motivation for setting up the event. Rosemary told us about her Son, Nelson, who was killed on his motorcycle in January, 2005, when a cage pulled out in front of him, killing him, and severely injuring his girlfriend. Rosemary founded Riding with Angels in his memory to help with funeral expenses for bikers killed in accidents.
